Program Director:
Preferred Qualifications: demonstrated ability in academic and/or hands–on radio setting and leadership skills. Duties: in consultation with the Faculty Station Manager, develops and executes station format; hires, lead and motivates air staff. Facilitates collegial working relationship among staff. Establishes air shift schedules. Monitors station to ensure consistency and quality of air product, and ensures that all station activities are carried out in a professional manner. Ensures station compliance with FCC rules and regulations. Coordinates efforts of Operations, News, Sports, Production, Music and Promotions departments. Works with Faculty Station Manager to execute station budget, and to develop and implement new programming.

Operations Manager:
Preferred Qualifications: works cooperatively with the Faculty Station Manager and Program Director in setting and leadership skills. Duties: works cooperatively with Faculty Station Manager and Program Director overseeing station staff to ensure that station policies are carried out in professional manner. Motivates and encourages air staff to ensure quality and to work cooperatively with one another. Monitors station to ensure consistency and quality of air product, and ensures that station activities are carried out in professional manner. Is in charge of all non-news production work, and oversees smooth operation of automation system. Researches and recommends to Program Director new programming ideas. Maintains the Quarterly Needs and Issues Report to be placed in the public file by October 10, 2006, January 10, 2007, April 10, 2007, and July 10, 2007.

News Director:
Preferred qualifications: knowledge of local, regional and national news scenes; ability to gather, write and announce news copy. Duties: works closely with Faculty Station Manager and Program Director to schedule and maintain continuous quality news programming. Oversees news staff and assigns story coverage. Serves as station’s chief news anchor, assigns other student anchor duties, and monitors newscast announcing and story accuracy.

Sports Director:
Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of local and national sports scene; ability to gather, write, and announce sports copy. Works closely with Faculty Station Manager and Program Director to schedule and maintain continuous sports programming. Serves as station’s chief sports anchor, oversees sports staff, and assigns sportscast and live coverage opportunities; monitors quality of sports staff announcing and story accuracy. Responsible to ensure that all home football games are broadcast on WVGS.

Music Director:
Preferred qualifications: knowledge of various music genres that station format includes. Duties: maintains the music library; cultivates and maintains record distributor service. Works in conjunction with Faculty Station Manager and Program Director to develop or update music format. Consults with Program Director in adding news tracks to music rotation. Establishes and maintains contact with regions’ live music sources, recommends and coordinates live performance opportunities.

Promotion Director:
Preferred qualifications: knowledge of writing and conceptualizing promotional activities. Duties: Works cooperatively with Faculty Station Manager and Program Director in planning and executing both on-air and off-air promotional activities. Prepares proposals for and oversees preparation and presentation of station promotional ideas. Recommends and executes promotional activities involving campus and community outreach. Coordinates production of on-air promotional campaigns with Operations Manager and Production Manager; coordinates and supervises promotion staff in execution of promotional activities.

Production Director:
Preferred qualifications: knowledge of writing creative sponsorship narratives, knowledge of Adobe Audition. Duties: Works cooperatively with Faculty Station Manager and Program Director in planning and executing on-air production. Writes copy and produces spots for sponsorships. Maintains the daily 411 updates. Works with the Promotion Director, Sports Director, Programming Director, and DJ’s to keep on air liners, sweepers, promotional tags, fresh and current. Responsible for aiding in the production of promotional spots for various specialty programming. Responsible for keeping current on GSU and Statesboro happenings to produce Public Service Announcements.
